Weeknight Ramen

From the streets of Tokyo in 15mins

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 Packet Nissin shoyu ramen

  • 1 tsp neutral oil

  • 1 spring onion (white finely chopped, green finely sliced)

  • 100g chicken breast

  • 1 whole egg

  • 1/2 tomato

METHOD

  1. Preheat BBQ, fry pan and 2 pots of water. One pot following the directions of the ramen packet.

  2. Season the chicken and tomato with salt and pepper and place on the BBQ. Cover, turn every 2-3 minutes or until chicken is fully cooked through.

  3. In the serving bowl, add the white part of the spring onion. Heat the oil in the fry pan, bringing close to smoking and pour over the spring onion.

  4. Place an egg into one pot on boil for 6.5 minutes. Remove from hot water and place into a cold water bath. Peel ready for serving.

  5. Meanwhile add ramen sachet to the pot of boiling water along with the noodles. Cook for 4-6 minutes or until desired texture is reached.

  6. To serve, combine the ramen with the aroma oil. Top with all other remaining ingredients.
